Holiday 2023 Newsletter

Thank you! I really appreciate all your interest and support through this year.

To celebrate a productive and creative fall, my studio in the Fleur de Lys building will be open on several dates this holiday season.

  • Saturday November 18th from 11-4

  • December 2nd from 12-5, as part of the Providence Art Club Block Party

Studio visits are a great pleasure for me, so please feel free to email me to make arrangements if these times don't work for you. I am always open by appointment or chance at other times.

One of the highlights this year was the exhibit of my Azores paintings at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River from June to August. We had a wonderful opening with food from the Azores and music by Joao Silva. A few of the paintings from this show are on display in my studio now if you missed it!

It’s been a great fall, and the only thing surprising is the speed it has gathered as the weather got cooler. I made a great trip to Eastport Maine and Campobello Island in Canada in early September, and enjoyed time with family in NY state and here in RI. But most of the fall has been spent in my wonderful studio, and there is a lot new to see on the walls.

My big project lately has been working to get ready for a show in the Dodge House Gallery which will open on February 18th, 2024. I am making a series based on my pilgrimage experience of moving with intent through the rural and urban landscape. It will have images from the Camino Santiago, St Cuthbert's Way, and other pilgrimage routes. Some paintings in progress are on a sneak preview display in the studio now.

Of course, painting in New England is always a pleasure, and there are plenty of paintings from local scenes as well. Art encourages me to see more in my ordinary surroundings, and it does the same for everyone that sees it. Hope to see you soon!
