After the holidays and before the spring travels, I have decided to put some unframed plein air pieces up for sale. And to do some good in the world, each sale will have 25% of the reduced price going to World Central Kitchen, feeding civilians in Ukraine. I have made an online store area on my website where these pieces are shown. They are from the summer, and I feel warmed by them as I look. Please email me if you are interested in getting one of these pieces.
Good news! I entered a piece in the "Fakes and Forgeries" show at the Spring Bull Gallery in Newport. My project was to do a copy of Gustav Klimt's "The Park" painting at a smaller scale. I really enjoyed studying how the colors were built up in the pointillist manner. Someone liked it enough to buy it! It will still be on view until the end of the month.

Work from past travels
I have also been working on pieces based on sketches and photos from trips to Spain and England. My particular interest is showing the landforms and the light conditions. There is so much variations in these conditions!
These new pieces are now on the website. There are now five geographical groupings under the Landscape heading, as well as the separate page for the paintings from the Azores. If you see other paintings that you are interested in, please contact me as well.

This is the view from the harbor of the village of Tazones in Asturias, Spain. The scene changed constantly when I was there.
Coming up!
I will be heading to Zion National Park at the end of February. Kathy Hodge will be the Artist in Residence there for a month, and I will join her for some chilly but inspiring plein air painting and general exploration. I am mentally packing my supplies already. Keep your fingers crossed that it stays fairly warm for February! My other visits to Zion have produced some of my favorite paintings.
